CALENDULA FLOWER TEA

The Calendula Flower's anti inflammatory and pain relieving properties make it one of the best flowers to use in a tea to soothe menstrual cramps. This recipe combines herbs that will bring relief to menstrual cramps and other symptoms. Adding the citrus from the orange and the calming flavor of mint will be a welcomed relief to the nervous system and bring a nice calming effect. This tea is easy to make and can be adjusted to make one cup or a big batch to have on hand throughout your menstrual cycle.

Calendula Tea

INGREDIENTS

Ratios can be adjusted to your particular taste. You’ll need an herb infuser, cheese cloth or some other way to separate your water from the herbs. If you have fresh herbs you can leave them whole inside your tea so that you can get a continued release of the herbs medicinal properties.

- Calendula Flower
- Red Raspberry Leaf
- Nettle Leaf
- Fresh Orange Juice 
(Squeezed or whole if you don't mind the bitterness from the peel)
- Fresh Ginger Root
(Whole or Peeled, You can also use dried or powdered ginger)
- Fresh or Dried Mint
- Sweetener (Of Your Choice)

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add herbs and ginger. Cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Steep for at least 5-10 minutes depending on how strong you would like your tea. Pour into cup and Squeeze juice from the orange into your cup or you can add a slice or two.
